3-star family-run hotel in historic Paddington

Location

St. David's Hotels Paddington overlooks Norfolk Square gardens and is moments from Paddington Station. This strategic location provides access to five underground lines, including the rapid Elizabeth line, with central London reachable in just three minutes. Guests can also access Heathrow Airport efficiently, making travel seamless.

Family-Friendly Accommodations

St. David's Hotels offers spacious Superior Quad Rooms, catering to families or groups with a separate bunk bed area. Rooms are thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and functionality, allowing easy stays for larger parties. Children can enjoy nearby attractions such as Hyde Park, located just ten minutes away.

Exploration

The hotel's proximity to iconic landmarks allows guests to explore London's architectural gems within walking distance. Visitors can wander through Paddington Basin, just a ten-minute walk away, leading to the serene canal-side setting of Little Venice. This neighborhood features waterside cafes and quaint pubs, providing a delightful backdrop for relaxation.

Historic Significance

Established in 1980 by George Neokleous, the hotel reflects a rich family history within the hospitality industry. George's journey from Cyprus is captured in the personal touch and attention to service that characterizes the hotel today, managed by his family. The Victorian architecture adds to the charm of the family-run establishment.

“St. David's Hotels Paddington wins on location, a stone's throw from Paddington Station. I think it's a solid choice for travelers who prioritize practicality and don't mind the quirks of an older building. The cozy rooms and friendly staff are pluses, though light sleepers might want to request a room away from the Underground line.”

perfect stay NEAR paddington

excellent location ground floor

the location is excellent near paddington station and many restaurants. ground floor room meant i did not carry luggage up stairs. luggage storage was available for a few hours after checkout. the shower worked well.

The room was VERY noisy. People talked in reception and others stomped the stairs. the bathroom next door saw use all night and i struggled to sleep. a loud party upstairs started at 5 am and did not stop after i left.

Dining

9/10

the area has a lot of restaurants close to the accommodation, offering many choices. there are also several convenience stores nearby. this provides great options for meals or quick bites.

Location

10/10

excellent location helpful staff park view steep stairway damp smell dark environment

the location is indeed excellent. it is a short walk to the train station (perhaps four minutes). the staff was very helpful and accommodating. the room had a nice view of a small park.

i found a steep stairway down to the lower ground level (it was dark). it smelled damp. the room was not as nice as i expected it to be.

Acceptable stay near Paddington

friendly staff helpful staff comfortable room renovated hotel difficult stairs no fly screen mouse problem

The staff were super friendly and always willing to help. I especially liked the ladies at check-in. The hotel has recently been renovated. The room is very comfortable, though small.

I found it hard to get luggage up and down stairs. There are no fly screens on windows. I was told there is a mouse problem, so I cannot open windows for fresh air.
