Smooth stay at a stylish hotel

spacious roomclean roomessential equipmentfood option
The room was spacious and very clean. The gym was compact, but it included essential equipment. I found it easy to walk to the River Tyne prom from the hotel. Staff members in the executive lounge provided good food and drink options.
The desk chair was not comfortable, I would have preferred a more ergonomic design.
Dining
9/10
The breakfast offered many hot options and was overall satisfactory. A gin bar that serves food is available. I tried a couple of tapas dishes there.
Service
10/10
The staff was friendly. I was checked in early at 11:30 am. The receptionist moved me down four floors because of a walking stick. Staff members could not do enough for you. They were friendly and professional.
Location
9/10
The hotel has a good location. It is convenient for accessing the city, yet quiet. A car park is next door. It allowed walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars.

Excellent Stay Near the Station

excellent locationsmart roomcomfortable roombreakfast variety
The location is excellent very near the station. The hotel decor has been updated since my last visit. The rooms are smart and the reception area looks nice. I booked a standard king room on the 6th floor. The room overlooked the railway station. Breakfast buffet had excellent variety, catering for everyone.
The big let down was on arrival. I agreed to charge my card, but the hotel took another charge instead of refunding the initial amount. It took four days to get the refund.
Dining
9/10
The breakfast buffet includes a variety of options catering to everyone's tastes, including a la carte items. I found the eggs benedict with salmon to be lovely. It provided a satisfying start to the day.
Service
10/10
The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive to my needs . Heena, in the lounge bar, took the time to welcome me back. It was appreciated. Sally in the exc lounge was particularly helpful!

poor hygieneinedible nachos
the leisure facilities were a big letdown. i found that swimming caps weren't required, so the pool's hygiene seemed questionable (and the jacuzzi was even closed once for maintenance because of dirtiness). there was also a lack of supervision in the spa areas and the gin bar's nachos were, to put it mildly, inedible. getting fresh towels was also strangely difficult, despite the hotel's policy on re-hanging them. the overall experience didn't live up to what i expect from a supposed 4-star hotel.
