mixed feelings about this stay.

housekeeping incident intrusive entry
The hotel is undeniably beautiful. I guess that's something.
The hospitality did not match the setting. Checkout is at 12pm, however housekeeping knocked loudly at 10am. not a gentle tap, but repeated knocking made it clear they expected entry! the door handle was then tried. That felt intrusive and unnecessary.

Decent Stay

great location interesting design complimentary snacks small room loud noise small breakfast
I really liked the location of this hotel. It was an easy walk to the main attractions. The building is fine, and it has so many interesting design elements. I especially enjoyed the complimentary snacks (it was a real treat!).
My room was a bit small, and I could hear noise from outside. The breakfast I paid for wasn't great either. It was a very small amount for a full Scottish breakfast.

I found beautiful details throughout the room. The vintage looking radio was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast presented an excellent wide selection of dishes. I liked the fresh bread.
The room was small, a basement room. It was noisy all night. I didn't sleep well. I heard noise from a public area above the room.
