The staff was lovely and kind, especially housekeeping. joe, the barman, was a great asset to the hotel!!! he sorted me out with a great rhubarb gin with ginger ale. i also liked the ice water machines on the floors. It is a neat idea. i brought my bottle!!!
the only significant downside was the bed. it was hard and uncomfortably so. for this reason alone, i won't be staying here again. what is the main thing you want out of a hotel? somewhere to sleep, and i did not sleep well.

i appreciated the hotel's location near the racecourse the staff were very attentive. chef rhys prepared tasty alternative dishes for a guest with dietary intolerances. maggie from the waiting team ensured everything was excellent. the pool sauna and steam room were also welcome features.
the shower pressure was low due to a leak i could not tighten. the conditioner dispenser in the shower was almost empty this was frustrating. water glasses remained in the room throughout my stay and stale water was left. the bar ran out of lager one evening and was not restocked.
