The location suited my business trip well. The facilities seemed quite adequate for a comfortable stay. The breakfast had a good selection of items (i liked the pastries).
The room felt a little basic and the décor seemed somewhat dated. The steak I ordered was not good. It had gristle.

Acceptable stay despite room issues

The staff were helpful. I appreciated the hot sauna at the swimming pool.
I had booked a Beautiful Double Room, but it seemed like a Travelodge. The mattress sagged, and it was uncomfortable. The TV remote was broken. It lacked a battery case.

endless corridors depressing room
the shower in my room was amazing!!!
i was frustrated with my standard room. it felt more like a holiday inn. walking down those endless corridors was just depressing. the hotel tries to present itself as luxurious, but it falls short.

a charming stay
friendly staff modern machines tasty bar food roomy bedroom
i stayed two nights and found the staff very helpful and friendly throughout the hotel. the gym and pool area were well stocked and clean i noticed the machines were modern and working well. the bar food was good i tried the pizza salad and fish pie and enjoyed it. i found my bedroom very roomy and the bathroom clean and modern.
i found a fire escape door near the bedrooms was open it did not feel very secure at night because anyone could walk in.

the gym had several treadmills and stationary bikes it also featured a selection of weight machines and free weights allowing for a comprehensive workout. the swimming pool was a decent size with a shallow end for children and a deeper section for adults to enjoy.

the reception staff greeted me warmly upon arrival i appreciated their efficiency during check-in and check-out. the staff were attentive and responded quickly to requests and questions throughout my visit making my experience smoother.

the breakfast offered a good choice of hot and cold items including a selection of pastries and fresh fruit. the dining room setting was beautiful with comfortable seating and pleasant decor i found it a relaxing space to begin the day.

the hotel is set in nice grounds and is easy enough to get to as it is signposted. the area seemed quiet and peaceful providing a relaxing environment for my stay i found the location ideal for a restful getaway.

friendly staff great toiletries
I really appreciated the really kind staff. They were amazing, and always pleasant. Bar staff was also very polite. I enjoyed the Penhaligons bathroom toiletries! The shower's water pressure was great!
There was no air conditioning in my room. Even though it was advertised as a beautiful suite, the room got very hot. The provided fan did not help much
