the air conditioning was tricky. the hotel covers a vast area. if one is unlucky, a room at the far end would mean a walk to the restaurants.

I found the beach quite pristine, a lovely place for a stroll. the buffet offered a varied selection. I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit. the room service was prompt and efficient..

I noticed the air conditioning in the room was a bit challenging to regulate. the gym had limited hours, restricting workout times. i experienced some delay at check-in. There seemed to be a staffing issue.

the architecture was sublime. it seemed like stepping into a bond villain's lair, which i enjoyed. the staff were friendly. they greeted me with traditional drummers upon arrival.

The bedrooms could have been cleaner. I saw deep scratches on the bedside table. the shower area wasn't very clean. i noticed accumulated dirt in the corners.

My room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were really lovely. Their energy. Food had a great variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes.

The customer service isn't 5 star. I called reception twice for coffee, and it never came. I had to visit reception 4 times to resolve a refund. I would have preferred good customer service.

The hotel has a beach on one side and a river on the other. There is easy access to Bentota Beach. It is beautiful with white sand. The location was excellent, though the parking was expensive!

the check-in process needs improvements. staff seemed inexperienced. it took a long time, and my id was misplaced. also, i was not offered a welcome drink or towel without asking. this lacks the standards i expect from a so-called 5-star hotel.
