Apukka Resort has eight accommodation options, including glass igloos and suites with lake views. The Kammi Glass Igloo Suites feature a kitchenette and twin beds under a panorama sky view window. New Aurora Cabin Kings offer Aurora viewing from your bed. Some cabins have heated panorama glass roofs that stay clear of frost and snow. Certain suites offer a fireplace, a private entrance, air conditioning, a living room, separate bedrooms, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a bidet. Kitchenettes include a stovetop, refrigerator, and kitchenware. Select units feature soundproof walls, tea/coffee makers, seating areas, and terraces with lake views. A villa built in 1948 houses up to 14 people and includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge, a kitchen, and a dining room. One glass cabin offers a private bathroom, electric fireplace, and a sofa. Private saunas are available for an extra charge.

Winter Wonderland Activities

Apukka Resort provides activities such as husky safaris, reindeer rides, and snowmobile tours from autumn through late winter. Guests can mush their own team of huskies on 3.5 km or 7-10 km safaris. Reindeer rides cover approximately 2 kilometers. Activities include ice fishing and snowshoeing. There is also a big tube slide and a frozen lake for walks. During the summer, guests can fish, rent outdoor equipment, and pick blueberries. The resort offers bonfires and a free Aurora Alert app for Northern Lights viewing. Guided tours are available for canoeing, and lakeside saunas are open year-round. Ranua Wildlife Park, with polar bears and 200 arctic animals, is an hour's drive away.

Location and Access

Apukka Resort is 15 km from Rovaniemi and 15 km from the airport. It is located a 20-minute drive from Rovaniemi city centre, 15 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from Santa Claus Village. The resort is accessible via the Apukka Shuttle Bus, which runs between Apukka Resort, Santa Claus Village, and Rovaniemi city center from August to April. The resort is situated between two wilderness lakes.
