Cute Stay in the Heart of Town

overall atmosphereconvenient locationtraffic noise
I adored how clean the hotel was. It gave such peace of mind. The staff were so friendly.. always ready with a smile. I found it very convenient to walk to the steam railway and explore the high street. The overall atmosphere really added to my trip.
I experienced noise from traffic late into the night and early in the morning. Parking on-site was more limited than I expected. I managed, but it was a bit of a concern on arrival after a long drive.
Location
9/10
This hotel boasts a central location that allows easy access to local attractions. The steam railway is a short walk away, as is the vibrant high street. This makes exploring very easy and enjoyable.
Rooms
8/10
My room was very clean and well-appointed. I also had extra pillows available in the wardrobe, made my night's sleep so comfortable. Hot water was available any time of day, great after a long day outdoors.
Dining
9/10
Breakfast included a hot full English option, included in the price. I especially appreciated that it was served at my own pace. The hearty portions kept me satisfied and energetic for my day's adventures.

Okay stay at this hotel

self-catering apartmentflower pots alecooked breakfastthin wallused towelpoor cleaning
I received an upgrade to a self-catering apartment upon arrival. The apartment included adequate equipment. The bar has several beers. I enjoyed Flower Pots ale brewed locally. The cooked breakfast gave me a great start to my days.
The cleaning service was subpar after the first night. Used towels were left on the floor and were not replaced. Used teacups and glasses remained unwashed. The bedroom walls were thin. I could hear conversations from the next room.

Fantastic Food and Great Location!

comfy bedconvenient parkingunchanged towels
I stayed in room 10 and found it quite spacious. The bed was comfy and the shower in the en-suite was really nice. The free parking at the back of the hotel was convenient too. The location allowed me to explore the South Downs area without any hassle.
the towels weren't changed after the first night, even after I left them on the bathroom floor. The used tea cups also remained uncleaned. I had to request a fix which was a bit disappointing.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel provides free parking at the back, a huge bonus arriving by car. There is also a restaurant where breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served with quality ingredients and generous portions. AMAZING!!!
Location
9/10
The hotel is in a great location for exploring the South Downs and the surrounding area. It is close to the Watercress Line and unique shops. You can find a lot of options for things to do.

my room was next to the car park, a location i quickly regretted. the noise started early, and it continued late. the room was supposedly "beautiful," a description that stretches the truth considerably.. it felt quite basic.
