This hotel provided a very convenient location before a ferry sailing. The grounds were pleasant to walk through, and off-road parking eased any worries about my car. The people were very helpful, and I found the room to be very relaxing. The restaurant included a good bar, local beers, and the food was superb during my evening meal.
I noticed black mold on the windows in my room, a disappointing discovery. Dust covered the surfaces, so anyone with asthma may want to check conditions. The mattress was very soft which impacted the quality of sleep.

faulty remotebroken air conditioning
The air conditioning in the room did not work, made for a very uncomfortable night. it was quite warm, and i expected better climate control. also, the tv remote was faulty. I could only change the channels, i was unable to adjust the volume using it. i had to get out of bed to turn the tv off at the wall.

the staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. i appreciated the garden room with a table and chairs just outside the french doors (this was a nice touch). the moldy fig restaurant offered a great breakfast.
the room could have been a bit more updated.
