I found the location great, offering fantastic views, it really broke up my journey well. i almost extended my stay, i enjoyed it so much. the hotel arranged a private boat trip. I didn't even need to leave the hotel to see windermere.
the reception staff on my first day lacked friendliness or helpfulness. the bathroom had a persistent bad smell, even with the fan on, twice. there wasn't a lift available, i found that quite annoying.

The hotel grounds extend beautifully right to the lake edge. The views were particularly lovely during the morning. I appreciated the ample supply of tea and coffee in the room. It really added to the experience. The restaurant's wine list was comprehensive.
The room was noticeably dusty, which triggered my allergies. The breakfast, though nice, was only lukewarm. The servers seemed a little unwelcoming.
