uneven stay.

amazing locationpoorly trained staffburnt scallops
the location was indeed amazing.
The staff did not explain why the alarm had been set off or whether we should leave the dining area quickly. The starter of scallops, priced at £13.95, arrived with three scallops of which two were burnt. breakfast was similarly staffed by poorly trained staff and we were seated very close to other guests despite there being available seating. staff didn't clear dirty dishes.

I was pretty frustrated with some aspects. The breakfast lacked Lorne sausage, so it did not feel like a real Scottish breakfast. My companion has lactose intolerance, yet lactose-free milk was not available. The toilet in our room also did not flush correctly.

Reasonable stay

The room was immaculate and smelled fresh. It was great to have bedside sockets with USB outlets. I ate in the estate room the first evening and the service was first class. The food was also very good.
Breakfast was not good for the price. There was no fresh bread. Anything besides porridge and scrambled eggs had to be paid for separately. Only very watered-down coffee was available. I did not see cappuccino.
