Location: Nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside

Dining: 1851 Restaurant with contemporary British cuisine

Accommodations: 48 individually designed bedrooms

Wellness: State-of-the-art fitness center and relaxation treatments

“Peckforton Castle distinguishes itself with medieval architecture and sprawling grounds suited for outdoor activities, making it ideal for destination weddings. The award-winning 1851 Restaurant suggests fine dining, and on-site spa services offer relaxation; however, some accommodations in The Lodge may show wear. Overall, I'd recommend it for a historically rich experience with modern amenities.”

Peckforton Castle is widely considered a beautiful and majestic place to stay, with guests often highlighting the magical feeling that begins upon arrival via the long wooded driveway. Dining experiences, especially breakfast and events like dining with Santa, are frequently praised, and the cave bar offers a special touch with its ambiance. While some guests have found the parking arrangements to be less than ideal, the spacious and cozy rooms, like room 202, contribute to a memorable experience.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great (especially the sausages!).
The room service menu was limited. Some chairs needed a good clean.

beautiful hotel lovely food empty cans dated bathroom
the hotel is beautiful and it has the feel of a castle. dinner at the brasserie was lovely and food was very good. the next morning breakfast was excellent too.
The bar is cold and soulless. our room still had empty beer cans from the previous residents. That highlights the not great standard, also the bathroom was dated.

steep steps meagre breakfast
the tasting menu at the 1851 restaurant seemed excellent and its price, competitive.
I was disappointed to discover steep steps between the lift and my corridor (room 107). I have mobility problems. breakfast proved disappointing this time. The cooked breakfast was meagre and stone cold. staff did not seem interested in addressing my disappointment.

A wonderful stay at the Castle

excellent staff nice selection limited menu general cleanliness
I found the staff excellent (everyone was so friendly). The breakfast provided a nice selection. I noticed the room service menu, while limited, still had some options. I also appreciated the general cleanliness of the facilities.
Rooms
9/10
My room included a turret. It was very comfortable. There was a minor issue with the heating that i reported and it was addressed promptly. The bed was spacious, i believe it was a king size.
Service
9/10
All the staff members i encountered were cute. I felt that everyone was cheerful and they helped to. The check in process was fast. I felt well taken care of.
Location
10/10
The approach to the hotel is picturesque. I saw many pheasants roaming around. The car park is located in a wooded area (which added to the charm). The castle grounds are extensive and perfect for a walk.
