Mckays Hotel is known for its superb breakfast, offering both veggie and non-veggie options, and a nice big bar with screens for sports enthusiasts. Many guests appreciate the convenient location and some found rooms in the main building a bit cramped. minimal storage spacecrowded breakfast
I must say the experience had a couple of hiccups, though. the room, a 'mckays double or twin room main building', felt a bit cramped. Storage space was minimal. also, the breakfast buffet was often crowded. It was difficult to get to the pastries. the noise from the street at night was noticeable even on a higher floor, disturbing sleep a little.

the room was spacious. it included excellent blinds and curtains. the highland soap company complimentary toiletries were lovely (i thought the scent was quite refreshing).
i found the staff to be efficient but not particularly friendly. a smile and good morning would have been nice when i came for breakfast. there was a wait to check in as no one was at the tiny desk.

I appreciated the television size. It was large. The bed was quite comfortable with fluffy towels. The staff knowledge was well received. All amenities were excellent. The room was spacious with a large bathroom.
My room was on the third floor. Ceilings are very low on that floor and I hit my head a few times near the window. There weren't any warning signs.
