Really good stay, attentive staff

The young man provided an excellent overview of changes and future plans during a golf buggy tour (very informative). Staff was friendly. Kevin gave us a welcome drink in the amazing Great Hall upon arrival. David, the barman, was very friendly, chatting with us about local walks and dog-friendly rooms.

The pool water was a bit cloudy .

The room had so much attention to detail, providing true luxury throughout my stay (i was impressed). My allocated room was gorgeous, with a generous size bedroom and dressing area. It also included a huge bathroom with fine views.

massive bedwell maintained pool

I stayed here for four nights and found the pool to be of a very good size. It seemed well maintained. The room featured a very good bathroom and a massive bed, great for unwinding after a long day. There was also a box of chocolates with fresh milk available, which I welcomed.

Service at breakfast was a little slow on one occasion.

My experience included a luxury room that was beautifully designed with convenient features. I found the mirror choices, vanity mirrors, and lighting met expectations. The bedside lamp switches were positioned for comfortable access. I appreciated the chauffeur service with Alan who collected me from the airport and provided transport to a work meeting. The breakfast was perfect. The bar team remembered my cocktail preferences.

The communal cloakrooms were not maintained to a high standard . I found that they needed more frequent cleaning.

Exquisite Hall Experience

My companions and I enjoyed three nights with both dinner and breakfast. The gardens are fine, and the spa facilities are very good. The pool size is quite nice and well maintained. Lovely chocolates and other treats were in the room. Fresh milk and a tea and coffee machine were included.

The wait times were a bit long to be served. There also seemed to be waits between courses. I thought the bottleneck seemed to be in the kitchen. there seemed to be a shortage of staff, especially for the dining and bar areas.

Meals included a very good standard for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Cloisters restaurant. Tables are located near the bar and within a room. The 1832 bar offers a good selection of drinks served to tables and bar stools.

The hotel offers spa facilities and a well-sized pool for relaxation. I noted that Room 32 seemed newly refurbished and included a massive bed. It had a very good bathroom with underfloor heating , made it possibly too warm.

The building is in lovely grounds and is a very grand building inside and out. I did note there are plenty of seating areas throughout to enjoy the open fires. The hotel location is amazing, offering peace and quiet.

There is a nice pool area. I saw the new spa nearing completion. The gym has many modern devices, so I could keep with my routine. The building is decorated for Christmas, so it looked even better.

From arrival to departure, all staff were fabulous. Staff was friendly, helpful and efficient, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Julie and Becca on reception were very pleasant and helpful. The service was caring and professional.
