this sublime castle provides a unique experience. i so appreciated the complimentary tour, it gave real insight into the castle's rich history. restaurant staff were lovely and attentive. tommy running the bar had great people skills.

the room i stayed in lacked proper headboards. also, the breakfast I had was merely average. i also found only one flannel for two people which was an oversight. the dirty cobwebbed blind on the velux was not pretty.

The evening meal was cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the tour up onto the ramparts. The views out over the valley were lovely.

The room was tired with cracked tiles in the bathroom. I also noticed the TV didn't work. Reception sent someone to reset it, but it lost reception again later that evening.

Underwhelming stay. Room issues and dinner routine felt rigid

dusty roomsewage odor

The room was excellent initially. however, the room felt dusty. the four-poster bed seemed cheap and unstable. the sink emitted a sewage odor. It lacked a plug cover. the set dinner at a fixed time felt regimented and oddly formal (i reminded me of i was back in school).

The castle had an amazing feel! the decorations were beautiful throughout the premises. the staff were helpful and friendly, they offered professional service. peacocks even wandered around the grounds. i appreciate the unique experience. It added to the overall charm.

the pillows were quite hard. the bedding felt lumpy. I suggest updating them. this would greatly improve comfort.

the castle has no public lifts to all floors, but there is a service lift. a castle tour is available each day at 10:15. the tour guide was knowledgeable. i am grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the hotel.

I had afternoon tea with prosecco. There was a plentiful selection. breakfast offered a large choice of cooked or continental options. the restaurant is on the ground floor and it looks very fancy.
