Premium suites include a separate lounge and bedroom, lake views, and balcony access. Larger suites offer king-sized beds, artwork, mirrors, and wardrobes. Bathrooms include a bath with shower. Some rooms have garden or mountain views. One ground floor room is specifically designed for guests with impaired mobility. An Aquila lakehouse is available, separate from the hotel, accommodating up to six guests for a minimum of three days.
Dining Options
The hotel offers two dining choices: The Bistro for casual meals and The Brasserie for fine dining, both managed by Phil Clarke. The Bistro and Brasserie are great for relaxed dining. Brasserie 37 offers seasonal produce. The bar menu, served from 6pm to 8.30pm, includes brasserie-style dishes. There is a wide selection of wines to pair with courses. The chefs, including Phil Clarke, John Cook, and Reece Kirkham, source ingredients from local producers. A full English breakfast, as well as boiled eggs and soldiers, are available.
Leisure and Entertainment
Haweswater Hotel is at the center of fell walking trails, including hikes to Old Corpse Road, Swindale Head, and High Street Fell. High Street Fell includes Blea Water, the deepest Tarn in the Lakes. Other activities include kayaking in Ullswater. The RSPB's Badger Hide at Haweswater offers views of badgers. The hotel may offer leisure activities from time to time, such as hill-walking or cycling. New Year sees the return of popular MURDER MYSTERY which will place you straight in the heart of an Agatha Christie whodunnit. Dogs are welcome in the bar.
Location and Access
Located in the Lake District National Park, the Haweswater Hotel is near Lowther Castle and Askham village with its pubs. It's less than six miles from High Street Fell and a 30-minute drive from Penrith. Ullswater and Aira Force are a 20-minute drive. The hotel offers views of the Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Carlisle Lake District Airport is 65 km away.

The Haweswater Hotel offers freshly prepared local food and hospitality in a non-smoking environment. Price lists for restaurant meals and room service are available on request. The ground floor of the hotel is accessible to those with mobility issues. Parking is free. Visa/Delta and Visa/Electron debit cards are accepted. During your stay the Hotel's system will calculate the incidentals charged to your room on a daily basis. There is an extra fee for dogs staying in our rooms of £15 per dog per night. Children staying at the Hotel must be supervised by an adult at all times.
