“There's something special about a Tudor manor so close to the Royal Shakespeare Company, especially one with its own ELEMIS spa. The gardens offer a serene escape, contrasting nicely with the lively market town nearby. I imagine fine dining here, paired with the hotel's history, would be memorable.”

Excellent Stay Near Town

easy walk beautiful trees dog friendly
I found the location perfect for easy walks into town. The hotel offers beautiful trees on its grounds. The swimming pool was a lovely addition to my stay. I appreciated that the hotel is really dog friendly.
The hotel parking incurred an extra charge. I used a disabled badge, but I was still billed. This felt unfair, especially since I expected complimentary parking.
Location
9/10
The hotel is conveniently located. Guests can easily access various shops and restaurants. This proximity simplifies exploring local attractions.
Rooms
8/10
The rooms are very clean with a large and comfortable bed. All rooms come well-equipped with the necessary amenities (including a spacious wardrobe). I enjoyed a restful environment.
Service
10/10
The staff members were consistently friendly and helpful . They addressed requests promptly and efficiently. The breakfast service was good (I especially liked the sausages).

The room's condition was disappointing. The bathroom tiles had cracks. housekeeping staff seemed indifferent, avoiding eye contact. i found the musty smell throughout the hotel unsettling, and it detracted from the overall experience.

Traditional Charm and Modern Comforts

clean family room traditional features reasonable ev charging helpful staff
Our family room in the coach house was beautiful.. it was clean, warm, and well cared for. The hotel has traditional features. I found the parking straightforward, and the EV charging was priced reasonably for the convenient location. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout my visit.
The hotel exterior mainly shows the old Tudor parts, not the accommodation blocks where rooms appear a little run down.
Location
9/10
The hotel's location allows convenient walking access to the tourist center. The Shakespeare Theatre is within easy walking distance from the grounds, and this offers a blend of tranquility and accessibility. Parking is also available.
Facilities
8/10
Guests can find both a gym and a pool, which are added bonuses for relaxation. The gym has equipment for a good workout, and the pool is great for a refreshing swim. A sauna also provides a spot to unwind.
Rooms
9/10
The room was spacious, and the large bed ensured a comfortable sleep. Coffee and tea facilities were available in the room. The hotel maintains its rooms attractively and ensures comfort.
Service
10/10
The staff is very cooperative and friendly. Their assistance and attentiveness contributed to a positive and pleasant experience. Staff members are very helpful and want to ensure satisfaction.
