The Lodge at Ashford Castle is in Cong, County Mayo, 65 km from Connemara. Nearby landmarks include Ballymacgibbon Cairn (2.5 km), the Statue of John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara (1.5 km), and the Royal Abbey of Cong (1.5 km). The hotel is near the Claddagh, popular for its bay views and the Claddagh Ring. Guests can get to the Aran Islands from Rossaveal, about an hour west of Galway City by passenger ferry. The Ashford Estate is surrounded by golf courses, including Connemara, Carne, Enniscrone, and Sligo.
