Culture and Nature
The Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Bergamo, GAMeC, inaugurated in 1991, is right in front of the Pinacoteca dell'Accademia Carrara. GAMeC's Spazio Zero hosts an installation inspired by the film 'The Watchman'. Bergamo has a climate that is never sultry, thanks to mountains, the nearby Lake Iseo, and the many green areas of the city. It is a stop on the Greenway, at the entrance of Val Brembana, with a green park, a cycle path, and picnic areas.
Events & Activities
The 'Bergamo Historic Gran Prix', a re-enactment of the Bergamo automobile Grand Prix won by Tazio Nuvolari in 1935 on the Alfa Romeo P3, and a memorial of the 10 editions of motorcycle races on the Mura circuit, with champion Carlo Ubbiali. The cars and motorbikes are exhibited to the public in Piazza della Cittadella. The Circuito delle Mura will be run clockwise as in 1935, starting from Colle Aperto. Other events include the Gin Tonic Festival and Vino Kilo. Spazio Fase hosts the Factory Market, with over 100 stands dedicated to hand-made and young and original design.
