the location was easily accessible, which helped a lot with my travel plans.
I found the staff rather unpleasant upon arrival. There wasn't even a smile or hello. they also failed to inform me about the hotel facilities or breakfast times. the bathroom was not clean and the carpets looked quite old (honestly, like they hadn't been cleaned since the 80s).

A Romantic Getaway

The room was a comfortable queen room. The breakfast offered MANY choices and everything tasted fresh. I spent time in the warm pool and it helped me to fully relax. The lobby had a coffee shop that offered free WiFi, SO convenient.
The fitness suite was slightly smaller than expected.

The air conditioning worked AMAZINGLY well during the REALLY hot weather, reaching over 32°C. Every area of the hotel had great air conditioning. The staff was helpful. They answered every question. I also found the menu options quite satisfying.

The hotel is in a GREAT location for visiting the nearby attractions. You can easily access multiple points of interest. Getting to the Newbury showground requires taxi service. It is not within walking distance. This accessibility definitely adds convenience.

I found the swimming pool to be of a GOOD size for a relaxing swim and the jacuzzi provided nice relaxation. The hotel had free WiFi within the lobby with comfortable seating. I found it convenient. Aqua and stretch classes were available near the warm pool.

i found a lovely, spacious, and clean room with a powerful, warm shower! the bed was very comfy. i enjoyed the pool facility too, and it was nice that the staff opened the bar for us.

Decent Stay, but Some Issues Noted
peeling paintoutside noise
I found a couple of things less than ideal. The bathroom was a bit tired. Some paint was peeling near the shower. the noise from outside was noticeable, even with the windows closed. I had some trouble sleeping through it. The location was not perfect, though the parking was expensive.
