“The Devonshire Arms stands out for its access to the southern Dales and the Bolton Abbey Estate; I found its dog-friendly policy particularly notable, extending even to tailored menus. The wellness focus, enhanced by an adult-only spa, makes it ideal for relaxing after exploring the countryside, though some may find the decor a touch eclectic. Ultimately, it's a place that balances historical charm with modern luxury.”

Underwhelmed by the Experience

slow service noisy room
The service in the cocktail lounge felt slow. It took a long time to get drinks even when it wasn't that busy. my room had some issues. I could hear dogs barking next door each morning. It was not very relaxing, and it disturbed my sleep.

polite staff warm welcome comfy bed dog poo poor service expensive room
The staff were very polite. they gave us a warm welcome and a tour of the hotel. our luggage was taken to our room. The classic double. it had a comfy bed and pillows and a coffee maker. fresh milk was in the fridge.
i found traces of dog poo on the carpet in the room. i was very disappointed with the level of service. the room was not worth the price i paid. i will not be staying here again.

nonexistent ambiance mediocre dinner
dinner proved particularly underwhelming. The ambiance was nonexistent, owing to brIGHT lighting and a general sense of disrepair. furthermore, my prawn and salmon noodle dish included a paltry SINGLE prawn, hardly justifying its inclusion on the menu.

nice food well-cooked breakfast amazing surroundings small room little warmth expensive package
The food in The Brasserie was nice. Breakfast was well-cooked and it was great to be served. The location is super, also the surroundings were amazing.
Our room was quite small but that was fine. I think we didn't feel special when we visited. I think there was little warmth from staff.

fine location excellent staff comfortable bed polyester fill bitter coffee poor flavor
The location is pretty fine. the staff are excellent too. breakfast was very enjoyable. The room was super clean. the bed was very comfortable!
the pillows provided seemed to be polyester fill. this was designed for firmness and loft rather than comfort. the coffee throughout the hotel was underwhelming in both quality and flavor! the pod coffee in the rooms was bitter.
