Select units include a seating area. Estate Rooms offer a queen or two twin beds, with courtyard or garden views. Tavarnelle Suites include a bedroom with a queen bed and a living room, overlooking the courtyard or garden; some provide views of the Chianti hills. Loft Suites are split-level, featuring a living room and a loft bedroom with a queen bed, with garden or countryside views. Heritage Suites, located in the main building, have frescoed walls, ceilings, and fireplaces, along with king or queen beds and views of the estate. Select suites provide access to COMO Shambhala Retreat, Wi-Fi, COMO Shambhala bathroom items, twice-daily housekeeping, and a scheduled shuttle to Florence or Siena. The COMO Suite, located in the 'Belvedere' outbuilding, is designed for families, offering a master bedroom, a twin bedroom, a living room, two bathrooms, and a shared terrace with panoramic views. The COMO Terrace Suite has a living room, separate shower and bathtub, and a terrace overlooking the garden and Chianti hills.
Dining venues
COMO Castello Del Nero features three dining options. La Torre, a Michelin-starred restaurant in the old stables, is overseen by Executive Chef Giovanni Luca Di Pirro, who prepares dishes using local ingredients. It features an àlacarte menu, which guests can pair with a selection of local wines. The Pavilion serves lunch and snacks near the pool. Breakfast includes a buffet with cold cuts, juices, cheeses, fruits, cereals, baked goods, and pastries, along with hot dishes made to order. Guests can book Olive Grove Dining, featuring dinner with Tuscan cuisine made with local ingredients. Guests can also opt for a traditional Tuscan barbecue, featuring a pre-selected menu and live music at Pavilion.
Leisure and wellness
COMO Castello Del Nero includes outdoor tennis courts, a steam room, and a fitness center. The COMO Shambhala Retreat provides Asian-inspired Shambala and Guinot spa treatments, 10 treatment rooms, thermal pools, meditation, and yoga classes. Guests have access to a 25-meter heated outdoor pool and can join complimentary yoga and Pilates lessons on set days. Other activities consist of cookery lessons, truffle hunting, gelato making, wine and olive tastings in the cellar, and vineyard tours.
Location and transport
COMO Castello Del Nero is located in Chianti, outside Tavarnelle Val de Pesa, south of Florence and north of Siena. The village of Tavernelle de Pesa is a 15-minute walk. Florence-Peretola Airport is about 30 minutes' drive. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus to Florence or Siena, depending on the day and schedule. Day trips to Florence and Siena are offered on alternate days.
