“Briggate Hotel is clearly geared towards those wanting to dive headfirst into Leeds' vibrant nightlife scene; its location puts you right above some of the city's most popular bars. It's an adult-focused spot that caters to a lively, diverse crowd, and the recent renovations including air conditioning and modern streaming services are a plus, in my opinion. If you're looking for a quiet retreat, this might not be your best bet, but if you're here to party, it's hard to beat the location.”

reception was unmanned when i arrived and i waited fifteen minutes, then found the receptionist in the bar next door, it was quite the wait.

The staff was lovely and accommodating. I liked the vending machine in reception, though I did not use it.
Upon arriving and opening the door from the street, I noticed an awful smell of damp. The smell disappeared after going up the stairs. I found this concerning.

mixed feelings about the stay

the location was suitable for my travel needs.
The noise levels were disruptive. Loud music persisted until the early morning hours. i found it hard to relax because the promised refund of £50 hasn't looked yet. This adds frustration to the already disappointing experience.

convenient stay with quirky décor.

central locationquirky decortowel hook
The hotel's central location proved super convenient. The staff at reception were lovely and helpful. my room, the sister act double room, had a comfortable bed, and the room decor had a quirky feel. added extras. i especially liked the overall convenience.
i did notice the lack of a hook for the towel in the bathroom. this was a small inconvenience, but it would be a helpful addition. i ended up placing the towel on the bathmat before and after my shower. it would have been nice to have somewhere to hang it.
