“This meticulously renovated, historically significant coaching inn sits right in the heart of Lewes. I especially appreciate the thoughtful touches, like dining areas thoughtfully separated for those with and without pets. mixed stay, some issues encountered

inadequate soundproofing street traffic
the location proved convenient for accessing nearby attractions.
The room lacked proper soundproofing. Noise from external sources, specifically street traffic, disrupted sleep. The provided earplugs proved inadequate to mitigate the disturbance.

mixed feelings here

uncomfortable heat subpar breakfast
the location was convenient enough, close to the train station.
The room was uncomfortably hot, and i found fans already present. ventilation seemed like an afterthought. also, breakfast seemed subpar. I expected more variety and attention to detail.

authentic hotel victorian charm sweet treats disorganised staff single cup limited coffee
the decor felt very authentic. it matched my expectations for a hotel in the uk (i especially liked the victorian charm). every detail considered the lodger. sweet treats and ear plugs were a nice touch.
the staff seemed polite (when i could find them). they also seemed disorganised. coffee came in a single cup at breakfast, not a pot. i expected more than that.
