Via Amsterdam is a design-led hybrid hostel and hotel with street art and urban design featured throughout the building. Large hostel rooms include en-suite bathrooms. Rooms feature air conditioning and soundproof walls. Dormitory rooms offer 6 or 8 beds. Family rooms feature 4 beds. Quadruple and twin rooms are available. Twin/double rooms include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a seating area, a wardrobe, and city views. Every bed comes with an allocated locker; guests can bring their own padlock or purchase one at reception for 6 euros. Custom-built beds include headboards with an electricity socket, USB charger, and headlight. Rooms also include bed linen, free WiFi, shower gel, shampoo, and a hairdryer.
American cuisine
Bar & Restaurant The Dude serves breakfast and dinner. The food and drinks are inspired by the American continent, from North to South. The Dude prepares food for groups. A buffet breakfast is served from 7:00 to 10:00 during the week, and from 7:00 to 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday for €12.50 per person. The breakfast includes bread, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, butter, sweet spreads, yogurt, cereals, cucumber, tomato, juices, milk, coffee and tea. Gluten-free bread is available. The restaurant is open to in-house guests.
Fun and Amenities
Via Amsterdam offers a cinema room. Guests can rent bikes at reception for €19 for the first 24 hours, and €17 for each additional day; 3-hour rentals are available for €13. The rental includes on-the-road repair services and ART-approved frame locks. The hostel includes chill-out areas, and a game area and The Dude bar. A guest pantry is available with a fridge, microwave, and water kettle. Laundry machines and dryers are located on level -1; washing costs €5, and drying costs €3.50, detergent included. Wi-Fi is free.
Location and Transport
Via Amsterdam is 600 meters from Venserpolder and 25 km from Schiphol Airport. The metro is a 5-minute walk away. From Amsterdam Central Station, take Metro 53 toward Gaasperplas and exit at Diemen-Zuid station; the hostel is a 3-minute walk from the station. From Schiphol Airport, there is a direct train to Diemen-Zuid Station. Guests arriving by car can park in the garage for €12.50 per day; the parking height limit is 1.95m. Landmarks nearby include Sint-Petrus'-Bandenkerk (1.5 km), Huize Frankendael (3 km), Amstelveld (1.5 km), and De Eland (1.5 km).
Services available
The staff is available 24/7 to offer insider tips and recommendations. The hostel offers luggage service on level -1; small lockers cost €3/24h, and big lockers are €5/24h. Detergent can be purchased at the reception for 2 euros. Guests can purchase tickets for museums and attractions at the reception. A carbon monoxide detector, a fire extinguisher, a smoke detector, a security system, a first aid kit, and window guards are included. Friends and family are welcome to visit the lobby and restaurant. Parking on the street is from Monday 09:00. Service dogs are allowed, but only in private rooms and private dorms.
