“Tynycornel Hotel enjoys a remarkable lakeside setting and a heritage as a fishing hostelry dating back to 1800, making it an appealing choice for those drawn to Tal-y-llyn Lake and Snowdonia National Park. The hotel's unique character extends to its dining, with a focus on local Welsh produce, as well as live music and BBQ nights that add a social element. Many guests appreciate rooms with lake views, some featuring big round windows or balconies directly overlooking the water; they also find the rooms spacious and comfortable, some with quality fixtures like rainforest showers. the room faced the lake, presenting a lovely view (i could watch the ducks!). the gardens were also well-kept. i especially liked that ample parking was available for all guests, made arrival and departure stress-free.
the fly issue was quite noticeable . this meant i had to move outside to eat, so i missed the service inside. also, there were no reductions on the bill for the inconvenience, which i thought was fitting.

I found the food to be good. There was a lot of choice available. I also enjoyed the excellent location in a quiet spot near the lake...
I experienced a bad issue with flies inside the hotel. This was predominantly downstairs in the restaurant and bar area. There was no reduction in our bill or even a free round of drinks offered.

a decent stay with minor drawbacks

beautiful locationgood rangehelpful staffdried breadpoor toastiefamily meal
the hotel location was really beautiful. mountains stood on one side, and a lake stretched out on the other. breakfast was nicely prepared, and a good range of choices were available. the staff was friendly and helpful, even when they seemed a bit rushed the first night.
I wish i could say the food was great, but it was not. i booked a table for a family meal. the sandwich bread had dried out under the warmer. The ham and cheese looked like a poor toastie.

friendly staffcomfortable bedscenic locationfaulty tv
The staff greeted us warmly. The food at the restaurant was really tasty. I was pleased with level access throughout the hotel, as it is convenient. The location was fine, offering beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The room was clean, and I was thankful for the comfortable bed. The view of the lake from the window was a highlight. The hotel provided a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The immaculate grounds added to the overall appeal. Breakfast was a good experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I found the location a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside. I appreciated the staff that were really good too ensure a pleasant stay.
The TV in the room had no signal. I reported this twice to the reception, but no one came to fix it. This was disappointing, especially given the price of the room.
