The Taybank Apartment sleeps four, featuring a super king bedroom, a king bedroom, an open-plan kitchen, a dining area, a living space, and a shower room. The Garden Apartment accommodates two, with a king-size bed, an open-plan kitchen, a dining area, a living room that opens to a private garden, and a bathroom with a monsoon shower, a handcrafted lusso stone bath, and twin sinks. Breakfast hampers delivered each morning include Aran Bakery croissants, homemade granola, fruit, yogurt, Great Glen charcuterie, Scottish cheese, seasonal jam, and orange juice. All rooms provide tea and coffee facilities and an electric kettle. Some rooms are equipped for children including the provision of travel cots and z-beds.
Dining at The Taybank
The Taybank features an upstairs restaurant that overlooks the gardens and River Tay. A dining room also offers river views. The garden kitchen provides wood-fired pizzas and other meals served in the riverside beer garden. The restaurant serves dishes made with fresh produce. A three-course sharing-style menu, cooked over fire with fresh produce from the Walled Garden, is available. Cordials made by Donald using own ingredients and snacks from the Taybank are available. For picnics, Dunkeld neighbours ARAN Bakery and Redwood Wines offer cakes, sandwiches, and drinks. The Taybank provides a summer lunch menu of small plates, sweets, and coffees. The dinner menu features dishes made with homegrown and local produce. The Garden Menu offers wood-fired pizzas, bites, snacks, and sides in the riverside beer garden.
Leisure and Activities
The Taybank provides a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge pool on the banks of the River Tay, available from November to the end of March. The sauna fits up to eight people and includes a 6ft-wide cold water plunge tank, a changing area, a communal fire pit, and outdoor seating with views of the river and Dunkeld Bridge. The property hosts live music every Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Live music is featured every week in the bar and gardens. The Taybank has one of Scotland's biggest beer gardens on the banks of the River Tay. Fishing is available in nearby rivers and lochs. Guests can enjoy walking trails. The Taybank provides access to river swimming. Bike stands are available in the beer garden. The Taybank offers a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge pool on the banks of the River Tay. There are open-air cinema screenings. Vintage & Makers Market is seasonal.
Location & Access
The Taybank is located in Dunkeld, 50 km from Dundee. It is accessible via a ten-minute walk from Dunkeld and Birnam train station. By car, it is just off the A9. The hotel is connected to local cycle paths, including National Route 77. Landmarks near the hotel include Ossian's Hall (2 km), Dunkeld Cathedral (0.5 km), Beatrix Potter Exhibition (1 km), The Duchess Ann (0.3 km), Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve (2 km), Birnam Oak (1 km), and Atholl Memorial Fountain (0.3 km).
