The Portreath Arms has a bar and restaurant that serves home-cooked food. The restaurant serves food from 12 PM to 2 PM and 6 PM to 9 PM Monday to Saturday. Barista coffee from Olfactory Coffee Roasters and Cornish Tea from Tea Pigs are available. The freehouse bar offers chilled lagers, ciders, Guinness, local Real Ales, wine, and a Gin & Rum Menu. On Fridays and Saturdays during June, the outside kitchen serves food from 5 PM to 8:30 PM. On Sundays in June, food is served from 12 PM to 5 PM, with takeaway options. Children's drinks are served in glass bottles.

The Portreath Arms offers surfing and body boarding. The area provides options for walking and cycling along the old mineral tramroads and the South West Coast Path. Children's activities include a bouncy castle and crafty crown making. The property has a shared lounge.

The Portreath Arms is in the center of Portreath village, a short walk from Portreath's harbor and beach. The hotel is on Cornwall's North Coast, at the eastern edge of Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within the UNESCO Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. Penzance is 30 km from the hotel. Landmarks nearby include Porthtowan Beach (4.5 km), Tehidy Park Golf Club (2.5 km), and Tehidy Woods (2 km).
