“The Swan At Hay seems to get the important things right, particularly the warmth of its staff; reading about it, I get the sense of a place where you're genuinely looked after, a detail that makes a stay. It strikes me as a solid base for exploring Hay-on-Wye's literary scene or venturing into the Brecon Beacons, and those gardens sound like a treat after a day out, too. It's a good, grounded choice.”

Excellent Stay at this Charming Place

town access excellent service ample seating high standard
The location was superb, providing easy access to the main town. The staff demonstrated excellent service. I found the large garden very relaxing. It offered ample seating for outdoor meals. Breakfast and dinner options were both of a high standard and i liked them.
The central heating system was difficult to control, so the room felt overheated at times. That was my only minor discomfort.

acceptable stay, some disappointments

small room overpriced value
The breakfast was acceptable (it had variety).
The room was quite small. I asked about upgrading, but the new room was only available for one night, then I had to move back. This bed was not good, so i left after a day. The value for money was not ideal.
