Acceptable but Overpriced Visit

misleading website slow service
The room temperature was ideal, a welcome relief.
The website gave a misleading impression of available facilities. I found no gym and no hotel bar open for use during the week. I ordered tea at the bar and waited 15 minutes. I had to ask about it. Another ten minutes passed before I cancelled the order and requested a refund from reception. That process took an additional 15 minutes.

Excellent Stay at Former Abbey

helpful receptionist room features fine grounds
Meg at reception was helpful from the start and explained everything clearly. Guy took our bags to our room and explained the room's features. The staff provided alcohol-free beer and juice as a substitute for complimentary champagne. The grounds provide opportunities for walks.
The website gives a misleading impression of the available facilities.

Breakfast was freshly cooked in the Refectory. The staff, Ellie and Gracie, provided great service. We had dinner at George's bar, and Lewis, Rob, and Kevin were very attentive, looking after us. The food was AMAZING!!!
