The Spyglass & Kettle is often praised for its superb location directly opposite the sandy beach, with convenient access for walks. Guests appreciate the well-equipped rooms, some even enjoying sea views, and the comfortable beds ensure a good night's sleep. While some guests have occasionally found the family rooms a bit small for longer stays, the delicious and reasonably priced food in the pub, including a breakfast with great variety, generally receives high marks. a seaside treasure

warm atmospheregenuine friendlinessdog-friendly beachevening entertainment
our four-night stay began with such warmth. jo and her team displayed genuine friendliness. our dog felt at ease, a good change, and there was entertainment each evening. a dog-friendly beach beckoned across the road.
The single rail provided for clothes storage proved a bit inadequate, a very minor inconvenience. I lived mainly out of my bag.

The location was excellent, just across from the path to the beach (perfect for morning walks). My room was very comfy and tidy. The staff were very attentive and helpful .
The check-in area was at the end of the bar, it was quite busy (I had to ask a couple of times for assistance). The room decor felt a little outdated. I also noticed some tables were not cleaned promptly after use.

Admirable Seashore Stay

lovely soapcomfy bedideal locationmissing drawers
I found the soap and shower gel particularly lovely. The bed was comfy and ensured a good night's sleep. The hotel location across the road from the path to the beach proved ideal. I also took advantage of the 20% discount on food offered to residents.
I noted a lack of drawers in the room. It only contained one chair. I found this inconvenient for longer stays. I thought about it and this could be better.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel features a pub restaurant. It gave a homely atmosphere, which I liked. The staff looked efficient. Everything indicated it was well-run, I observed.
Location
10/10
The hotel is close to the seafront, I found. This allows easy access to both Boscombe and other areas. A short walk along the front brings you there. I noted good proximity.
