Review summary
Based on recent reviews

Guests frequently highlight the hotel's convenient location near the train station and opposite the beach, offering easy access to town and scenic walks along the promenade towards Sandown or Shanklin. The availability of good-sized family rooms, some with spectacular views from private balconies, is a definite plus for many. An indoor pool is a recurring highlight, though a few guests have mentioned that some rooms are yet to be refurbished and may appear a bit dated. The hearty breakfast is typically appreciated by guests.

breakfast service real credit
the breakfast service was accommodating with tweaks to suit what i wanted, which i thought was AMAZING!!! alex at the reception and bar area is a real credit to the hotel. he was helpful in making sure we had all we needed and took note of requests.
The corridors seemed like a maze, with little corridors up and down. It might be unsuitable if you have walking problems.

helpful staff efficient waitress good food outdated room towel number small towel
The food tasted good. It was convenient that our rooms were cleaned daily. The staff was helpful and efficient. I liked that the hotel is good value for money.
The room felt very outdated. It surprised me that the sink was inside the room rather than in the bathroom. We only received one large towel and one small towel, it was not what I expected.

the lift was quite small and a bit difficult to operate, especially when handling luggage.

an acceptable stay

indoor pool seaside view small lift heavy door
the indoor pool was a plus. i used it several times . the seaside view from the hotel was excellent. it was worth the extra cost.
The lift was very small and ancient. it was the kind where i had to pull open a heavy door and then hold back a strong metal gate. this was difficult when balancing luggage. I saw some older guests struggle with it.
