i found the location fantastic, with great historical context. the staff were amazing throughout my stay, always helpful. plenty of parking on site made access easy. there's also good access to nearby activities, such a plus.
i notice the room was a little shabby. the handle was falling off the wardrobe door and that was a bit annoying. i think some attention to detail would make a difference.

historic charm and solid service

helpful stafflovely commentsshower regulation
I attended a celebration of life event recently and the catering staff was really good. the food was amazing!!! the service on the day met promises, and we received many lovely comments regarding the event. the staff ensured everyone was taken care of. I found this very thoughtful.
I noticed a few small issues regarding the accommodation, located in the annex. the shower was hard to regulate. It alternated between scalding hot and freezing cold. obtaining bath mats from the reception in the main building was slightly inconvenient.

the hotel offers a beautiful, peaceful setting. it is located on well-kept grounds with easy access. outdoor eating and drinking areas are available when weather permits. these features add to the overall experience.

Charming Stay

excellent breakfasthistoric hotelpleasant experienceweak wifi
I appreciated the excellent breakfasts each morning. The hotel has much history displayed throughout its architecture. The quirkiness of the rooms. I found both the water pressure and the hot water plentiful, despite being on the main house's top floor.
The wifi signal was unfortunately weak. I found it difficult to maintain a stable connection. This limited my ability to work or stream content, an inconvenience I hope can be addressed.
Dining
9/10
The restaurant provides good food during the evening meal and the staff offers very pleasant service. I enjoyed the reasonable prices for the cask ales, a feature that enhanced my dining experience, along with the breakfast choices.
Rooms

My room was in the mews rooms and it had pleasant garden views. The room was comfortable, with provided tea and coffee making facilities. These amenities allowed me to relax and enjoy the quiet of the surroundings, after a long day.
Facilities

There is a beautiful bar with outside seating. The building also features a medieval chapel attached to the main building. These features added to the overall charm and uniqueness of the hotel.
