3-star character-filled hotel in Portree Harbour, Isle of Skye

Location

The Rosedale Hotel is located along Portree Harbour, surrounded by local fishing boats and scenic views. Central to the bustling town of Portree, it provides access to numerous tourist attractions. Nearby destinations include the peak of Ben Tianavaig, 17 miles from the hotel, and the Cuillin Hill mountain range, which is under 10 miles away.

Rooms

With 17 en-suite bedrooms, the hotel offers a range of room sizes and layouts, accommodating individuals and families. Each room includes essential amenities such as tea and coffee-making facilities, and hairdryers are available for guests. The rooms are spread across three floors, featuring character and charm from the converted fisherman's houses.

Dining

The on-site restaurant on the first floor offers a cozy atmosphere along with sea views. A focus on fresh, local produce ensures a seasonal menu that showcases the flavors of the Isle of Skye. Breakfast is included with every stay, providing an opportunity for guests to start the day with a variety of options.

Pet-Friendly Accommodations

The combination of spacious areas and nearby outdoor activities enhances the experience for both guests and their pets.

Parking and Accessibility

The narrow corridors throughout the hotel reflect its historic charm but may require some navigation for guests.

Highlights

Location: Central to Portree with local attractions

Rooms: 17 en-suite bedrooms across three floors

Dining: Intimate restaurant with seasonal menu

Pet-Friendly: Dog-friendly accommodations available

“The hotel's bayside location is a definite plus, providing picturesque views, particularly from the restaurant. While its historic nature means no lift access, the refurbished rooms after the coastal flooding show care. I found its position ideal for exploring the Isle of Skye, with the added bonus of being dog-friendly.”

I found a few things frustrating . the promised hot food wasn't available as advertised. They only catered to walk-ins, not paying guests. even a simple sandwich wasn't offered after my long drive! this meant i had to search for food elsewhere, and that was a real letdown after such a tiring journey. restaurant food
