really good stay atop the hill
helpful staff amazing view convenient parking comfortable bed
The reception staff was very helpful. I had a really fast check-in. the room offered an amazing view. on-site parking provided great convenience. i found the bed quite comfortable.
the gym was a bit small and could use some updated equipment.

quiet rooms comfortable beds delicious coffee
the location high above the city provided really good views. i found the rooms quiet and well kept, with supremely comfortable beds. breakfast on the third floor offered delicious coffee with hot milk.

the panoramic rooftop swimming pool is magnificent, offering comfort and ease of use for relaxation. on-site parking is available at no extra charge. the hotel is located next to gibralfaro castle.

the restaurant has a great menu offering the best of local produce. the kitchen brigade provides well-prepared dishes and a first class table team offers a fine dining experience. fresh orange juice was in plentiful supply during breakfast.

the hotel's position above the city provides magnificent views of the port below. it is a short walk down from the castle via a well trodden path. the hourly number 35 bus provides transport back up to the hotel.

decent stay with some issues
panoramic view rooftop pool old-fashioned hotel broken tiles
the location provided panoramic views of the city. the restaurant was good and the rooftop pool proved lovely.
I found the hotel to be somewhat old-fashioned. It seemed like it needed modernising. the first room i was given was very small with broken tiles. This was a dangerous situation, really.

Acceptable Location, but Service Issues
late night noise limited options
The location is ideal. It's next to the castle with fine views.
I was disturbed by noise every night until after midnight. Staff maintained the pool above my room with machinery late at night. The limited dinner vegetarian options also led me to switch to a B&B.

disappointing value for money
small pool slow bar service
the views from the hotel were acceptable.
The room felt old fashioned. the pool was quite small and didn't have enough sunbeds. This was frustrating as i wanted to relax by the pool but couldn't always find a place to sit. the bar service was also quite slow at times.
