“This property struck me as a place of contrasts, with a reception area that makes a strong first impression that the rooms struggle to match. The setting in Limpley Stoke is undeniably lovely, and the staff, for the most part, are friendly and efficient, especially the barman Chris; still, I wonder if a refresh could elevate the experience to fully meet its potential.”

staff at reception are polite and helpful i guess.
This hotel needs a serious update. the room reeked of old cigarette smoke, it was terrible. plus, the shower had no water pressure at all. It was barely a trickle, not good when you need to actually wash.

Charming Stay in Quiet Locale

helpful parkingfriendly staffwarm roompicturesque location
I find the on-site parking very helpful, though it is a little limited. The staff was very cute and friendly, I did enjoy this. My room was warm, and I notice a very quick drive into central Bath. I must mention, the location is lovely and picturesque.
Rooms
9/10
My room includes tea and coffee making facilities with fluffy towels. I appreciate the room being clean, comfortable, and warm during a November stay. Rooms do feature views of the surrounding countryside and hotel gardens.
Service
10/10
Check-in was easy and the staff was attentive, and so helpful during my time here. The hotel bar remains open late, perfect for a pint. Chris in the restaurant was really fun, friendly, and kind, I note.
Location
8/10
This place does feel like an escape from the busyness of travel, it do. The hotel sits in a nice valley, there are views there. I see the hotel location is near Bath.

a mixed experience with some drawbacks

dated decorweak water pressure
the hotel felt a bit stuck in the past. the decor seemed dated and in need of updating (i noticed chipped paint and worn carpets). also, the water pressure in the shower was very weak. it made it difficult to have a proper wash, and i found myself wishing for a more modern and efficient system.
