2 Michelin-Star Culinary Retreat in Oxfordshire

Dining Excellence

Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons hosts a celebrated two Michelin-star restaurant, created by Raymond Blanc OBE. With an emphasis on local, seasonal ingredients, the restaurant proudly presents a menu that changes regularly to reflect the harvest from its two-acre organic garden. This commitment to culinary mastery is complemented by the unique honor of holding a Green Michelin Star for sustainability alongside its two culinary stars.

Culinary and Gardening Experiences

The Raymond Blanc Cookery School offers hands-on culinary lessons set in a stunning environment, utilizing produce from the hotel's garden. Visitors can also join gardening courses where they learn directly from the expert team about sustainable practices. This immersion into both cooking and gardening reflects the hotel's holistic approach to food and sustainability.

Unique Surroundings

Set in six acres of landscaped grounds, the hotel features an array of diverse gardens including an English orchard and herb garden growing over 70 varieties. Guests can explore peaceful paths lined with lavender and relax in the Japanese Tea Garden, which blends cultural influences into a tranquil atmosphere. Ancient spring ponds dating back to the 16th century add to the picturesque setting.

Accommodations

Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons offers 32 individually designed rooms, each reflecting unique inspirations from Raymond Blanc's travels. Guests enjoy bespoke amenities tailored for their comfort, including marble bathrooms and courtyard views. The hotel provides various packages, such as the 'Cook and Stay,' combining accommodation with culinary experiences.

Event Hosting

The hotel hosts small- to mid-size events ranging from 15 to 50 guests, with private dining options featuring seasonal menus crafted by the head chef. The conservatory, overlooking the gardens, serves as a scenic venue for receptions or celebrations. Each event is complemented by gastronomic excellence, making gatherings truly memorable.

Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons is frequently described as a magical and peaceful retreat, where the architecture evokes a fairy-tale atmosphere, especially around Christmas. Guests often enjoy the spacious and well-appointed suites, such as the Hollyhock and Rouge et Noir, some featuring lemon cake and private courtyards with fairy lights. Acceptable Stay. Service Issues Noted

poor service plastic candle
The hotel grounds were acceptable. They featured a pleasant orchard.
The service was poor. My request for a special birthday presentation was acknowledged, but the staff made no effort to fulfill it. A dessert with a plastic candle was served with no apology for the omission of the prior request.

Pleasant Stay with Room for Improvement

informative tour complimentary cake engaging staff dated technology fatty terrine frozen slivers
The grounds tour was quite informative I learned about various gardening methods. Our room included complimentary cake and fruit I thought it was a nice touch. Staff members seemed happy to discuss the history and ethos of the hotel I found that engaging.
The room's technology felt a little dated the TV and Bluetooth speaker could use an upgrade. The terrine tasted rather fatty to me it was not my favorite dish. Frozen orange slivers were so cold I could hardly taste them they did not enhance the dessert.
