Review summary

The Red Lion Hotel offers spacious rooms, with some guests particularly enjoying the king-size beds and comfortable bathrooms with both showers and baths. Its central Basingstoke location places you within a short walk of the station, shops, restaurants, and The Anvil theatre. The full English breakfast is a highlight for many, though some guests have noted that the carpet in the rooms could use a refresh. For those attending court on London Road, the hotel's proximity is especially convenient.

i was really happy with the location as it was easy to find! bethany at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. the shower had great water pressure and included toiletries (i love when they do that!). i got a quiet room on the top floor as i requested!
The breakfast service was really poor. The woman greeting guests acted abruptly (it's not a great way to start the day!). my room had no plug sockets next to the bed. also, the blankets were itchy and seemed like cheap material.
