the breakfast had porridge cooked by the chef and a tasty cup of earl grey!!! most places use cheap tea, so this was a real treat. the location is quiet and relaxing, a peaceful haven. the extended breakfast timings, from 6.30am to 10.30am, allowed for lazy mornings.
I arrived and the lady asked for a £50 authorisation on my card, which i did not expect. she then said they would remove the mini bar instead. this. It was a bit shocking.

i was particularly grateful for bryony at reception. simon also assisted with car parking ensuring i found a spot. i appreciated the small touches in the room.
i found the mini bar to be overpriced. a small bag of crisps cost almost £3. i recommend buying snacks elsewhere.

location was fantastic. i walked to the castle easily. the hotel provided a peaceful escape from the city noise. the staff was friendly and very attentive to my needs.
the room lacked air conditioning, so the temperature was difficult to control, though there was a fan available.

the bathroom really let things down. the shower grout had mold. the frosted glass panels on the sliding door let too much light in at night, i did not sleep well. it felt cheap.

the location was quite central, a short walk from the main attractions. the gardens was well kept.
the room felt quite dated. there was no air conditioning, only a small fan, which struggled to cool the space. the bathroom was cramped and the shower pressure was very low, its difficult to even get clean.
