fabulous breakfast authentic room tricky heating shower light

the breakfast was fabulous. The room itself felt authentic, quirky, and totally perfect for what i wanted. The pub atmosphere was great. It reminded me of I was a local.

i couldn't open my window. The heating system was a bit tricky to manage. The shower light even flickered so i had to keep the bathroom door open.

excellent value great value warm atmosphere broken shell huge amount peppercorns

the breakfast was excellent value for money and offered tremendous choices. a log fires were on and candles burning, what created a lovely warm casual atmosphere. the service and staff are all so lovely and attentive.

the oysters were a first disappointment. they was tiny, like the size of mussels and full of broken shell. the haggis, ordered by two of our party, was something mixed with what may has been mashed potatoes, and overcome by a sauce which was particularly overpowered by the addition of a huge amount peppercorns that did nothing for the dish.

a fantastic return!

friendly staff quality food cute manager return visit

i stayed overnight and i am so glad i did! the hotel has gotten its mojo back. the staff were cute and friendly , and the food was consistently high quality. the new manager really seems to have turned things around. i'm already planning my return visit with friends.

the elevator was a bit slow , but honestly , it's a minor thing in an otherwise awesome experience.

amazing stay!

beautiful location friendly staff whisky list

i stopped here after visiting oban. the location is very nice! staff were so friendly, and my room was beautiful. i enjoyed the great restaurant and explored the fantastic whisky list they have. breakfast was so good!

i wish the food portions were a bit bigger. other than that everything was amazing!

the beautiful room included fresh towels and toiletries. the room also featured an enormous comfortable bed. blackout curtains ensured total darkness at night, great for sleeping.

the pillows in my room were substandard and old. the bed sheets also seemed worn. the window had a crack, and it looked it would not close properly. i showed the photos to the reception desk.

The staff were friendly and helpful. the restaurant was excellent and the pub was convenient. breakfast was also good. It provided a solid start to the day.

the service felt chaotic at times. there was a 40 minute wait for drinks one evening. i found the macaroni itself rather tasteless.
