Underwhelming Stay
lack of air conditioning slow room service
The room looked clean and tidy, providing the basics for our short stay.
The room lacked air conditioning, a problem considering the price.. The shower setup felt dated, especially with the high bathtub sides. Ordering wine to the room took an hour. That is unacceptable.

serene getaway in the countryside
fine architecture excellent breakfast non-dairy needs
I appreciated the architecture. It's fine with lovely grounds. the breakfast was excellent. they accommodated my non-dairy needs with several options, and i also enjoyed club sandwiches for lunch one day. They were a treat.
i noticed the hotel needs some tlc. it retains beautiful character, however, it could benefit from a fresh coat of paint. i saw this particularly in the spa area.
Facilities
9/10
the hotel features a great pool and spa area for relaxation. the grounds are lovely and perfect for a walk. the views from the terrace are fine, especially on a sunny day.
Dining

i found the breakfast service really good. the restaurant provides table service, not a buffet. the food was of a high standard and quality ingredients, especially dinner one evening.
Rooms
8/10
The room i stayed in overlooked the gardens. It provided views toward the thames. a ground floor courtyard room offers easy access and added privacy, and the bathroom was convenient for our needs. the bed was comfortable.
