Adequate Stay

helpful staffdelicious risottosubpar responsecustomer service
The staff were cheery and helpful . The chef accommodated my dietary restrictions at dinner with an off-menu risotto. It was delicious. My partner enjoyed his food. He said it was excellent.
I encountered an issue one evening with a cocktail. The customer service response was subpar given the circumstances. It could have been handled better to maintain goodwill.

Mixed Experience at Coastal Hotel

lukewarm lattesoverpriced starter
I had some issues . The oat lattes I ordered were barely warm. The sourdough and tomato starters seemed overpriced for what they were, a small slice of bread with minimal toppings. The bar area suffered from smoke coming in from outside the gents toilet, which detracted from the dining experience.

decent stay overall

good bednice roominteresting menucustomer servicewrong measureno apology
the location suited my travel plans. i needed to take the bute ferry the next day, so it was convenient. the room was quite nice and the bed was good. dinner was very good (the menu was interesting).
i had a minor issue with a cocktail one evening. the wrong measure was used for an expensive drink. i thought customer service could have been better. i provided proof of the incorrect measure, but there was no apology.

uncomfortable bedlimited view
The room felt quite cramped, and i found the bed wasn't particularly comfortable. also, the view wasn't great. I mostly saw slate roofs. it's true the price was lower than other places nearby, but i still wished for a bit more comfort and better scenery! the lack of hanging space for clothes was also a real inconvenience.

dog friendly stafftasty menuserviced moorings
The staff was very dog friendly. Customers also. The menu exceeded typical pub fare and tasted amazing. I found the moorings recently serviced (a great relief for boaters).
The bar service seemed a little inattentive.
