the breakfast menu gave me plenty of choices. it really was superb.
i booked a table for 7.30pm then i had to wait maybe 20 mins before they took my order for a drink. after ordering, i waited over one hour before my food came. there was no apology for the slow service.

i found great food at the varied dinner menu. the dishes were well-prepared and presented at a reasonable price. breakfast included fresh eggs from their own hens in the garden. locally supplied fish and venison were fabulous.
My room needs updating. There was mould around the edge of the shower. i noticed a water stain on the ceiling. i also saw some dog hairs on the carpet.

Our time here was excellent! the hotel displayed a list of food suppliers and the freshness of the food was clear. the bar impressed me with its scottish gin selection, a real highlight! the room was very clean. Tea and coffee supplies were plentiful!
The shower's thermostatic control did not work correctly. It delivered no heat at all. my partner tried to shower but could not even go in! it really needs fixing!
