lovely and helpful hotel

the room was very comfortable, with a king size bed. the shower was great (i loved it!). the staff were excellent, very helpful, and friendly to us.
i think that charging for parking is disgraceful, especially as i discovered alternative options from another customer (i wish i had known this earlier).

I enjoyed the staff's super friendliness a lot. The bed and pillows felt comfortable to me. I also really liked the shortbread cookies the room had.
the parking fee, while reasonable, seemed like an unexpected addition TO the overall cost.

The hotel is very CLOSE to cafes, pubs, and the city center. It is also situated near a castle, which makes it convenient for sightseeing. I found these features very useful.

Our room offered a comfy bed and a nice bathroom. The room was large, with amenities i appreciate. I found the provided fan useful because of the heat.

Hotel PARKING cost £10, acceptable. There are plenty of spaces around the back, a detail i noticed. This setup makes parking less stressful.

The staff were helpful, polite, and FRIENDLY. One receptionist carried my bag upstairs because i hurt my back.

Breakfast was EXCELLENT with both continental and freshly cooked options. I had the full Scottish breakfast, and it tasted MASSIVE. It was one of the best cooked breakfasts i have had.

i found the modern bathrooms had excellent showers. the bed was quite comfortable. the staff accommodated an early check-in due to a snowstorm. they also stored my bags after checkout so i could explore. the breakfast offered a good selection of meats cheeses juices and fruits.
my christmas meal seemed overpriced compared to others at various hotels. the turkey dinner was not what i expected, especially for the price. parsnips were rock hard the turkey slices were not appealing and the custard served with the christmas pudding was cold. i did not think it was worth the expense

the staff was very helpful (especially with directions!). the hotel is close to many shops and restaurants. the breakfast selection included both buffet items and table service.
The car park system caused problems. my credit card was blocked. there was a shortage of electric plugs in the room. I located some behind the desk, but i had to crawl underneath to access them. wine by the glass was very limited.

the location was acceptable and relatively central to the area.
The room lacked basic amenities like air conditioning, and only a small fan was provided. The furniture seemed old and damaged, specifically the peeling fake leather on the dressing table was unsightly, i was frustrated by the condition.

the staff was friendly, i must say.
The room was quite disappointing. It had a musty smell that bothered me. also, the television remote didn't work. i found that the breakfast selection was quite limited too.
