detached socket unavailable umbrellas
the location was satisfactory. it provided a quiet retreat.
the room i had booked, a castle room, lacked proper maintenance. the power socket was detached from the wall, a potential hazard. also, umbrellas were unavailable (this is surprising given the frequent rain in the uk).

a relaxing retreat
spacious room good facilities quality supplies efficient staff
The room was spacious and offered very good facilities. I enjoyed a round of golf. The bathroom had high quality supplies. The staff were friendly and efficient, which i appreciated.
the hotel is excellent, however i experienced a small problem with transparency regarding included spa access, it could have been handled more effectively.

superb stay
spacious room comfortable bed attentive staff great pool
The valley castle room was spacious. the king size bed was comfortable. the bathroom included toiletries and good size towels. I found the staff attentive. i enjoyed the grounds around the hotel. there were many activities available. Some were free. the spa pool was a great size.
The changing rooms looked a bit tired, and the lockers were fiddly. I HOPE they can improve this minor detail soon.

The staff was attentive throughout my stay. they offered help with directions and information. I found them friendly and professional. the hotel provided excellent service in all areas.

i ate at both restaurants and the food was tasty. the breakfast had many options available and everything tasted fresh.

The spa pool had a great size. the hotel offered many activities. Some were free, and some cost £37.50. i found the grounds beautifully decorated for christmas, Which gave a calming feel.

underwhelming stay
old pool many dogs
the pool was a big letdown. it needed an upgrade, appearing untouched for decades. kids filled it from 9am to 5pm making it impossible to swim or relax.. also, i found it surprising that so many dogs stayed at the hotel.
