The location is AMAZING and very walkable to the city center. The breakfast selection was excellent and offered many choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful upon arrival, giving me a map. The bed was especially comfortable for sleeping.
The car park filled up quickly. I had to park on the street. This was slightly inconvenient.

The hotel features a beautiful private garden. There is an iron with board available for pressing clothes. Mineral water is supplied along with an adequate selection on the tea tray, that was a nice touch.

The on site parking was nice. I found a comfortable lounge where I could relax. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. The staff were attentive to our needs.
The room looked dated and not like the pictures online. Curtains were falling off their rails. The kettle was dirty, and some windows had some mould. The bathroom accessories needed attention and maintenance.

i found 'the darwin suite' lovely! the decor was so tasteful. although i didn't use them, the gardens looked lovely. the bar area felt festive with christmas decorations and a fire. the drinks prices seemed reasonable too!
a mini fridge in the room would have been appreciated, and the phones could use an update. these are minor things, though!

a few issues during stay
peeling paintrefused parking
the room showed some wear. peeling paper was visible near the bathroom. paint was also peeling in the bathroom and on some furniture. this impacted the overall impression. i was also disappointed that an extra 30 minutes of parking was refused despite the car park being mostly empty i really needed it
