Alpine Chic Rooms (renovated in autumn 2025) are 20-22 m² and feature a free-standing bath and double basin in the bedroom, with a separate shower and WC. Deluxe Double Rooms, at 23 m², include a washbasin, a separate shower, and a toilet; some have a balcony. Design Superior Rooms are 30 m² and feature a partition between the bedroom and a dressing/living room with a divan bed and TV. Design Junior Suites range from 45 to 55 m² and feature one or two bathrooms with a shower and bath plus a separate toilet. The Penthouse Deluxe Suite is a split-level, 100 m² suite with comfortable sofas, a sofa-bed, a fireplace, a dining table with leather seats, and two balconies.
Dining at Alpenhof
The hotel offers dining options including a breakfast buffet with bread, butter, dried meat, Alpine cheese, egg dishes, crêpes, fruit, birch muesli, and fresh orange juice. The hotel's chef prepares a 5-course selection menu from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., featuring seasonal products. There is a piano bar and a Cigar Lounge, offering digestives, whiskies, and cigars.
Leisure and Wellness
Guests can use the Spa area which includes a daylight indoor pool, a hot tub, a sauna, steam baths, and a tropical shower. There is also an outdoor adults-only area with a Finnish sauna, a bio-sauna, and a steam bath in a log cabin, plus a stainless steel jacuzzi. Other features include a relaxation room, a communication room with snacks, and a fitness room with Techno Gym equipment. The Lift MESO Concept, is available, and massages and treatments for children and pregnant women are offered.
Location and Transport
Located in the car-free village of Zermatt, opposite the Sunnegga Cable Car Station, Wellness Hotel Alpenhof is a 10-minute walk from Zermatt. The hotel is accessible via the European rail network. The Sunnegga cable car provides access to ski slopes and hiking areas. Visp, the sole place of jurisdiction for disputes, is accessible from the hotel. The hotel is 80 km from Sion. Complimentary e-taxi transfer from the train station is offered on arrival (until 8 PM) and departure days; guests are asked to provide arrival details in advance.
