fantastic experience!

early check-inclean roomdelicious foodsmall tv
check in was simple. a friendly person greeted me and allowed an early check in since the room was ready! the room was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. drinks in the bar that evening were great, and i ate in the restaurant (food was delicious!).
the tv was very small, and the sound wasn't great. it only picked up bbc channels, so i couldn't watch much else.
Facilities

the hotel provides free parking behind the building. the bar area looks classy (a real transformation!). there is also a restaurant available on-site for both lunch and dinner.

Underwhelming Dining Experience

dry toppinglittle sauce
I had high hopes for the food, especially after reading recommendations. The bar lacked any real atmosphere. My fish pie cost £24 and contained very little sauce. The dry mashed potato topping made it even worse, I must say. It did not meet expectations at all.

Excellent Stay in Yorkshire

ham hock terrinedelicious startersgreat hostssmall tv
I enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch with excellent starters. The ham hock terrine and baked mushroom were superb. My roast beef and my husband's pork belly were both delicious (the crackling on the pork was amazing!). John and Craig were great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The TV in my room was quite small. The sound quality was not great, either. This did detract slightly from an otherwise great visit.
