Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Bell Hotel is a gem in Suffolk, often described as a traditional, family-run hotel with tastefully decorated rooms. Guests rave about the spaciousness and comfort of the bedrooms, complete with practical en-suites; the hearty Suffolk breakfast platter is also a highlight. Some guests have noted traffic noise due to the hotel's location on a junction, but overall, the hotel offers a modern and very tasteful country style, with a limited but exquisite dinner menu including the popular Friday night fish and chips with prosecco.

Really good Hospitality and Comfort

friendly staffclean placecomfortable bedsmalfunctioning taps
The staff are very friendly and serve as great hosts. The place appears nice and very clean. Beds are very comfortable and the room included a great selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. I really appreciated the attention to detail.
During my visit, the taps in the bedroom did not function adequately. The hotel should arrange for a plumber to address this issue. I believe a range of malts would appeal to some clients.
Rooms
9/10
The room provided ample space and a comfortable bed. Sumptuous linen and fresh towels were supplied. The shower offered reliable water pressure and consistent temperature control.
Service
10/10
The staff were always attentive and helpful with requests. They provided useful information about local attractions. Staff members offered prompt service at breakfast and in the bar, and they ensured all needs were met efficiently.

quite a NICE stay

helpful staffhearty platterlimited shelfmissing towel
the staff were helpful. the breakfast out of this WORLD. i enjoyed the "hearty suffolk" platter. it set me up well for the day. the evening menu was limited, BUT each dish was exquisite.
shower room seemed poorly appointed to me. there was minimal shelf space for toiletries. there were no towel rails for wet towels. the bedroom felt suffocatingly HOT all the time. i found only one chair in the bedroom.

a nice stay!

friendly staffthoughtful gesturecomfortable bedbusy street
I found the staff friendly. They even went to a local store to buy my favorite gin when the hotel ran out! i received a complimentary cocktail adapted to my preferences, a thoughtful gesture. the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I slept soundly each night.
the street outside my room was busy, and noise from a nearby hotel disrupted my sleep on a couple of occasions. i think that quieter rooms should be on the other side of the hotel.
Rooms
9/10
The room included lovely blinds and sumptuous linen. generously sized towels. It was also quite spacious. drawers and hanging space were more than adequate for my belongings. i appreciated the practical shower and toilet en-suite. it had anti-slip floors and a lighted mirror.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel had tasteful decor in the dining room, breakfast room, and bar. This contributed to a pleasant atmosphere. i found substantial chairs in these areas that were comfortable to sit in!
