Harbourside Café & Restaurant
The Slipway hosts a café-restaurant over two floors indoors, plus a marquee-covered terrace. A harbourside café operates on the outdoor terrace. Traditional Cornish cream teas, scones, cakes, and homemade sandwiches are available for lunch, with more formal dining in the restaurant in the evenings. The restaurant specializes in local seafood and also offers non-seafood and vegetarian options, plus a variety of drinks. Breakfast, taken indoors, includes fruits, cereals, and a choice of hot dishes like kippers or fry-ups. The bar has Doom Bar beer on tap. Pub classics are offered, including fresh seafood, such as pots of mussels in a garlicky wine broth, and fish and chips.
Leisure at The Slipway
The Slipway Port Isaac features a terrace and a garden. Guests can walk the Coast Path for five to ten minutes, as advised by The Slipway. You are also near perches where the Fisherman's Friends sometimes sing their shanties.
Port Isaac Location
The Slipway is located in the village of Port Isaac, on the historic wild west coast of Cornwall. It's dreamily steps from the sea and the fictional cottage home of television character Doc Martin. Landmarks nearby include St Minver Church (4.5 km), Port Isaac Harbour (0.3 km), Doyden Castle (3 km), Cliffside Gallery (0.5 km), The Platt (0.3 km), Harbour, Port Isaac (0.3 km), and Collegiate Church of St Endellion (0.3 km). The Slipway advises leaving your car up the hill on New Road. The walk from-and-to the car park might take anything between 5-20 minutes depending on physical stamina as there is no parking in these time-trapped streets. Newquay is 40 km away.
B&B Amenities
The Slipway B&B, opened all year round, has been a smugglers hideaway and a ships chandlery. Free full breakfast is provided. The building is undergoing restoration work with new furnishings and minor repairs.
